Captain Nelson won this honour when in action with the "L" Battery at Nery, 1st September 1914, where, in face of tremendous fire, he helped to bring the guns into action and even when badly wounded, remained at his post until all ammunition was expended.
Killed in action, Lillers, France, 8 Apr 1918.
