Lance Corporal Angus won this honour for great devotion to duty displayed at Givenchy, 12th June 1915. He left his trench voluntarily, and in the teeth of a terrible fire rescued a wounded officer from near enemy trenches. He was wounded about 40 times, some seriously, during this gallant rescue.
